General

  1. The League is known as the Crawley Pool League and is governed by a committee comprising a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary and 4 general members.
  2. Membership is open to any team with a minimum of seven players within a seven mile radius of Crawley and within the boarders of Sussex.
  3. Entry fee is £75.00 per team and includes all tournaments.
  4. The match playing format is seven singles and two doubles. Points are based on the number of games won. There are no bonuses.
  5. Matches should start at 8.00 p.m. and all singles player's names must be entered on the result card by 8.15 p.m. Home team nominates players first, thereafter there should be no changes. 4 players must be present to constitute a team.
  6. If a player is not present when called to play there will be a five minute 'grace' period for the player to show. Failing to show after this period means the game is awarded to the opponent. Captains can agree to change the order of games if it is known that any player is going to be late.
  7. All frames must have a referee, the 'home' team refereeing first, alternately thereafter. Home teams must referee both doubles games and produce an acceptable stop-watch for the timing of shots. Referees should have a reasonable knowledge of the rules.
  8. The 'home' team must get the result of the match to the Secretary as soon as possible after the match by whatever means available. The completed and signed Result Card should be with the Secretary by mid-day on the Saturday following matches. Failure to do either of these will mean the 'home' team will lose all points gained from the match. The 'away' team will keep any points they have gained.
  9. A team may request a postponement of any match by giving at least three days notice to the opponent Captain. Postponed matches must be played within four playing weeks of the original date, or the match will become void. The Secretary must be informed of all arrangements made. No team may postpone a match during the last four weeks of the season, but it may be played on a different evening of the same week.
  10. A team may add to its' original list of players at any time within the season up to six weeks before the close of season. A team may have a maximum of 15 players at any time. New players may not play in any match or tournament for a team until three days have elapsed from the date of the registration. A player may transfer once only in the season up to the half-way point of the season. A £3.00 transfer fee is payable.
  11. A team who plays an unregistered player will lose that match. All points will go to the opponents.
  12. In the Three Person Team Event only one County or Pro player may play for any team, and all players must be from the same team.
  13. In all Doubles tournaments any two registered members of the League may enter.
  14. No Knock-out or Three Man Team matches may be postponed, but they can be pre-played.
  15. Any rule not covered here can be found in the League Constitution in your Handbook. Any problems that are encountered should be referred to the Secretary for further clarification.
