Webby , I know this league has a lot to thank you for and i for one appreciate the time and effort you have given over the years.

As for the new look , i honestly think it looks very cramped to me and the league table figures seem to merge with each other. They are my observations and nothing more.

I would like to see a live web-cam at every venue. This could then stream each match onto the site for archiving and viewing endlessly.

I would stick to this one, the colours look horribe on the new one!

In fact was the new one coded by Terry Dolan? Is it W3C compliant? smile

I personally dont mind the current site, maybe a bit of jazzing up but agree about the colours on the proposed new one, lol.

Overall I think we're pretty lucky to have such a decent looking site. When you look at RRDPLs website its not as professional looking, although they do get more interest on their forum.

No one goes on the RRDPL site, they go straight to www.surreypool.com

right to take your comments 1 at a time.
Ringo: I quite agree with the league tables being cramped but what do you think about being able to go through the different leagues without having to go to another page?

Comfortably numb: if you arrange the web cam i'll do the live feed, or on another point if anyone wants to take photo's or video of any games i will galdly create a section for them

MP: I prefer the old one but i was asked to do a redesign i'll go back to the drawing board to see what i come up with any sites that you like the look of let me know and i will base the new design on that.

Tea Break: when you say jazzing up what do you mean any thing you want to see added?

I dunno really, when I last spoke to rob he was talking about bringing in pictures or moving icons for links, he's tried to put the scrolling information on the homepage too.

maybe have somewhere to upload photos or videos or something? I dunno if it would get used but imagine it could be reasonably amusing.

Re: building a new site - what would you like to see added

Hi Webby , just a few points.
                                       1) who asked you to redesign?

2)Whether or not I have to go through other pages or not to get to the league i play in is irrelevant , in fact I like the independence of each league as i would find it quite annoying to trawl through pages that are irrelevant to me just to get to where i want to be.

finally  I re-iterate what i said originally and i hope you do not take this as a personal attack but i really do not want anything to change. The website is clear , easy to use and clutter free and i say again if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I do appreciate everything you have down for the league over the years and to echo TB's remarks , we are lucky to have such a fantastic website.

Tho only thing i would like to see is a player profile lounge where people could view selected players record.
Over the  years crawley has produced some real talent , we've had players achieving at the higher levels of the game such as mo, bob cooper jakey and even thoughit pains me to say it d. barnes so it would be nice to get something like that up and running.

The website doesn't need to change but by all means add features to it.

I think we should have a section like 'JD's shot of the week'. The icon for the link would be a pint of Guinness. You click the pint of Guinness and it goes to a video of JD lying on the floor analysing several shots in order. Then he drunkenly points to the one he considers his 'shot of the week' before falling asleep, which is a prompt to return to the homepage.

Re: building a new site - what would you like to see added

Would any pictures of D Barnes winning something be in sepia - how will they look on the website?

Also, with some of the players mentioned, will we have to use some kind of adult ID check for access so the pictures dont scare the children?

2 points Welshie.

1) Darren Barnes has never won anything.

2) Can you put your posts at the bottom?

Has Welshie won 2 points this season? Thats more than me!

If Darren Barnes has never won anything he should go to lingfield one day if he is any good at relay hurdles to the ice cream van whilst carrying a full pint of bulmers (half filled with vodka)

Is a post at Ringos bottom now? I thought the conclusion was to try fruit?

Hang on TB! You were complaining about digressing to butt plugs on a previous thread, and now you've shamelessly turned a decent chat about building a new website into suggesting that Ringo's bottom is some sort of letterbox!

You are some twisted individual. Silly Brian is MENSA material compared to you.

I resent that rather flippant remark Confortambly Struck Dumb. I would've got my MENSA membership fair and square, but for some reason they shut the window down after Morray Dolan cut in in front of me.

Fair point i'll leave the structure alone as well

Not a personal attack at all infact you are baking up the point that i made. I also made the point that this website is mainly for the Crawley Pool League players so if you guys all do not want it to change then im not going to redesign it or alter it in any way apart from tidying it up a bit here and there.

Thank you i do take pride in the website  and i am looking into ways to improve it but rest assured i will always run things past everyone before i go mucking about with the design.

Player lounge sounds interesting the only thing with this though i would need some where to store information on games won, teams played for etc i will take a look into it and post something here when i have got something for you to look at.

Re: building a new site - what would you like to see added

Wasn't thinking of games won and teams played, was thinking more of a player profile document for example Mo dolans profile would include the fact that he has played for England and Ireland and has reached the quarter finals of the world championship.

There are players in the league that have achieved at the highest level and it would be good for other players who come onto the site to see that.

Well I've got all your trophy, so on your page it would only have voodoo instructions.
